Rohit Sharma – The most successful IPL skipper
Mumbai Indians no doubt find out the best out of their players and give them the license to express themselves. The way the franchise owners nurture their players has been spot on. One fine example in this regard has been of their skipper Rohit Sharma.
IPL team Mumbai Indians have played a great role in the journey of Rohit Sharma from an ordinary player to one of the greatest. After playing as a youngster for two years, the opening batter was handed the leadership of the team in 2013. Not many were impressed by the move, a bluff that time, a masterpiece now.
Rohit left his impression in the very first season as a captain as he led the team to their first-ever title and after that, he didn’t look back. It was a start of a new era in the IPL as he after that guided team to a record five titles and made them the most successful team in the league.
Rohit then won the titles in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020 and made Mumbai Indians the most dominant team in the IPL. Not only this he also led the team to two championships and league trophies as well. The batter is also the leading run-getter for the franchise as he has played many staggering knocks for them and won them games.
Rohit will captain the team in this year’s IPL as well. After a dismal outing in the last season, where MI ended last on the points table, the opening batter would want to turn the tables around and guide his team to the 6th title.
