IND vs WI: The domestic season in India is all set to return. Duleep Trophy 2023 is just around the corner and the stage is all set for one of the exciting domestic tournaments in India. The tournament will take place from June 28th to July 16th. The squads for all zones have been announced and it’ll be an opportunity for players to show the BCCI selectors about their prowess and make their case strong for the Indian team.

One of the notable misses from the Duleep Trophy was Ishan Kishan. The keeper batter opted out of the trophy and it raised many questions. Even the selectors said that he could’ve got the captaincy of the team because he’s a regular member of the Indian team. 

Since the last few days, many have lashed out at Ishan Kishan for opting out of the trophy especially him being in the plans for the Test setup of the Indian team. But the reason behind his pulling out of the upcoming Duleep Trophy has finally been revealed now.

As per the reports in News 18, it is learned that Ishan Kishan has opted out of the Duleep Trophy to manage the workload as he was part of all series of India in 2023 & Indian Premier League as well. The reports also suggested that, the keeper-batter will be heading to NCA next week to prepare for the West Indies series.

Ishan Kishan notably has been travelling consistently with the team and playing games as well. He’s likely to be part of the West Indies tour. Also with Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023 around the corner, the management would want him have some time off.

IND vs WI: India is all set to tour West Indies in the July and August. They will play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is. The two teams will be seen in action in Tests first, which will be played from 12th July to 24th July followed by ODIs that are slated to be played from 27th July to August 1st. The five-match T20Is are scheduled to take place from 4th August to 13th August.
