India captain Rohit Sharma is all set to become the first cricketer in the history of the Men’s to play 150 T20I tomorrow. The senior opener batter will be achieving the feat when he steps on the field in the second game against Afghanistan

The second T20I between India and Afghanistan will be played on 14th January in Indore. Rohit Sharma will be captaining the team and would be hoping to make his 150th game in the shortest format of the game a memorable one.

Rohit Sharma made a return to the T20I team in the first game against Afghanistan. He didn’t have a great outing as he was run out and bagged a two-ball duck. He didn’t play a single T20I for the last 14 months and now him being back, might be a potential hint that he will play in the T20 World Cup 2024

Rohit Sharma no doubt has been an incredible servant for Indian cricket in all three formats of the game. Coming to T20Is, he is the second leading-getter in the format overall with 3853 runs to his name from 149 games at a strike rate of around 140.

Rohit Sharma also has slammed four centuries in the first, which is the joint most in the T20Is alongside Glenn Maxwell and Suryakumar Yadav. He would be hoping to add more to his tally and send a strong statement about his future in the format.

Rohit Sharma is in the fag end of his career. Therefore him making a return to the T20I format didn’t go well with many. They believe the batter shouldn’t have returned to the format and should’ve allowed youngsters to take up the role.

Therefore the upcoming two games will be a great opportunity for him to silence all the critics and make him strong in the T20Is. It remains to be seen how he goes about the business in the next two games.
