The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is doing every possible thing to make star all-rounder Hardik Pandya fit. As per the reports in CricketNext, it learned that the governing body has made an 18-week fitness programme for him ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Hardik Pandya is undergoing a rehabilitation plan at the NCA. BCCI wants the all-rounder to be completely fit for the cycle between 2024-26 when few ICC events are slated. The Mumbai Indians player could’ve made a comeback during South Africa and Afghanistan but governing body wasn’t keen.

BCCI wanted him to gain his full fitness, considering the T20 World Cup is around the corner. Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury during the ICC World Cup 2023 game against Bangladesh. He twisted his ankle in his follow-through and then was ruled out of the entire tournament.

Hardik Pandya played for seven long years for Mumbai Indians before joining Gujarat Titans in 2022. He captained the team for two years, winning in 2022 and ending up as runners-up in 2023. It’ll be a homecoming for him and will be a great boost for Mumbai Indians.

Apart from Hardik Pandya, the reports suggested that BCCI makes fitness plans for Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah. The governing body is making sure that the injury-prone players stay fit for the future.

The likes of Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah have had injury concerns. They missed a lot of cricket due to the injuries they suffered. It’s fair to say that in their absence team lost some big games as well. They currently are available but BCCI doesn’t want to risk.
