WPL Points Table After GG vs UPW WPL 2026 Match No.2

Gujarat Giants defeated UP Warriorz by 10 runs in their first match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026. With this victory, Gujarat occupied first spot in the latest WPL Points Table with 2 points and an impressive Net Run Rate of +0.500. GG Skipper Ashleigh Gardner was the player of the match as she played a fantastic knock of 65 runs and also took one wicket.

​UP Warriorz slips to the bottom of the WPL Points Table, but they still have more matches left in the tournament to bounce back. Phoebe Litchfield played an impressive inning of 78 runs in just 40 balls, but failed to finish the game. Asha Sobhana also played an impactful inning of 27 runs, but it wasn’t enough to win the match against the Gujarat Giants.

​UPW needed 26 runs in the last over to win the match against Gujarat Giants, but they were able to make only 16 runs and therefore lost the game by 10 runs. It was an excellent match between both teams, and they played good cricket in their opening game of the Women’s Premier League.

​Gujarat Giants dominated the game from the first inning of the match. They batted first and put a massive 207 runs on the scoreboard. They had an excellent start; both the openers showed good cricketing skills, especially Sophie Devine, as she scored 38 runs. Anushka Sharma also played a fantastic knock of 44 runs off 30 balls.
