WPL 2026: Points table after match 3, MI vs DC
MI vs DC match in WPL 2026 saw Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals
After a shocking defeat in the opening game of the WPL 2026, the Mumbai Indians made a strong comeback in their second match. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side beat Delhi Capitals by 50 runs at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai on Saturday.
Mumbai yet again had a poor start as both openers in Amelia Kerr and G Kamalini fell without scoring much. But the experienced campaigners in Nat Sciver Brunt (70) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (74*) joined hands and bailed the team out of trouble.
Brunt first made sure that Mumbai maximised the power play despite an early loss and slammed a vital half-century. She along with Captain Kaur added 66 runs for the third wicket.
In the end, Kaur unleashed her beast mode and hit a brutal fifty, while a cameo from Nicola Carey (21) powered Mumbai to 195 for four.
Delhi had the worst possible start to their chase. None of the top six batters went past the ten-run mark as Mumbai bowlers were charged up right from the start.
Delhi were left tottering at 86 for six with all the big guns back in the hut. Chinelle Henry (56) kept her team in the hunt with a half-century, but that wasn’t enough as Mumbai ended Delhi’s innings on 145 to win by 50 runs.
