Dream11 IPL 2020 completed on 10 November 2020. IPL 2020 was a successful IPL season despite of the COVID-19 situation across the world. Just after the conclusion of Dream IPL 2020, BCCI started the preparation of IPL 2021 which is not too far from here. BCCI will aim to make things go as planned for the 14th season of IPL. So, here is the Opening Date, Venues, Mega or Mini Auctions, Hosting Country about IPL 2021.

IPL 2021 Starting Date:

As per BCCI plans, the IPL 2021 is likely to start from the mid of April to first week of June 2021. Sourav Ganguly made it clear that he wants the IPL 2021 at its usual pace and he wants to conduct IPL 2021 just like any other IPL held till now except IPL 2020. All this depends on the COVID scenario which is going to play a key role in next year’s IPL, he added.

IPL 2021 Hosting Country:

The next season of IPL is likely to be played in India hopefully everything is in place and the COVID-19 vaccine will be ready by that time, said the president of BCCI. However, we will keep UAE as a backup option, he added.

“Hopefully the vaccine will be out by that time and we can host it,” said Ganguly on hosting IPL 2021 in India.

Mega or Mini Auctions IPL 2021:

As per the sources, Auctions will be conducted in India itself mostly mid February 2021. Also, the BCCI president said that they are yet to take a call on Mega or Mini Auctions due to COVID 19 Pandemic and time scarcity.

Update: IPL mega or mini auction will to be held on 18 February 2021.

Venues and Fixtures:

As the Covid situation getting improved, BCCI likely to conduct the IPL2021 in India only. The venues might be reduced to half due to tough scenes in several parts.
