  3. Tilak Varma
  4. Suryakumar Yadav (c)
  5. Hardik Pandya
  6. Shivam Dube/Rinku Singh

Key Talking Points

The biggest focus is on Shubman Gill, who returns as T20 vice captain and is a confirmed opener alongside Abhishek Sharma. With SKY and Tilak Varma solidifying the middle order, India looks stable at the top.

The main challenge will be in the all-rounder department. With Ravindra Jadeja retired from the format and Washington Sundar in reserves, India might have to rely on Shivam Dube for the sixth bowling option. His bowling has not been trusted much, while Harshit Rana offers bowling depth but limited batting ability.

Jitesh Sharma is likely to start as the first-choice wicketkeeper over Sanju Samson, as the selectors want a designated finisher. India may also test different bowling combinations depending on the slow pitches in Dubai. Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy could both play if the team opts for two specialist spinners.
